Jakarta (ANTARA News) - An Indonesian military officer was shot by members of an outlawed armed group in a border area between Skouw (Papua, Indonesia) and Wutung (Papua New Guinea), on Tuesday.

The condition of the military officer is not yet known due to the ongoing encounter between the Indonesian military personnel and the rebel group, according to a reliable source.

The Skouw-Wutung border has been closed since April 5, 2014, following a shooting incident that injured an Indonesian police officer. (*)
